ISGS Announces Finalists for 1st Go Promotion Awards

The International Society of Go Studies (ISGS) is thrilled to reveal the finalists for the highly anticipated 1st ISGS Go Promotion Awards. With 11 remarkable poster submissions from across the globe, the awards have captivated Go enthusiasts, educators, researchers, and students from 11 countries.


These diverse submissions cover a range of topics, including Go educational methods, teaching materials, media, promotion projects, and research reports, showcasing the global appeal of the Go community. A total of 21 authors contributed their innovative ideas, highlighting the collaborative nature of the Go community worldwide.


The posters will be displayed at the upcoming International Conference on Go Studies on August 31st, 2023, at Myongji University in Yongin, Korea. Attendees will have the opportunity to explore the captivating presentations and engage with some of the poster authors in stimulating discussions.


One of the conference's highlights will be the 1st ISGS Go Promotion Awards ceremony, where winners in three categories - Excellence in Go Promotion, Outstanding Go Education, and Rising Go Teaching - will be honored for their exceptional contributions to Go education and promotion.


"We are thrilled with the quality and diversity of the submissions for the 1st ISGS Go Promotion Awards," said Prof. Daniela Trinks, chair of the ISGS Education Committee and Awards initiator. "The posters offer valuable insights and innovations, showcasing the immense potential of Go education and promotion. We eagerly anticipate celebrating the winners during the award ceremony."


The ISGS invites all Go enthusiasts, researchers, and practitioners to join the international conference and witness the engaging poster presentations that promise to inspire future Go projects.


국제바둑학회, 제1회 바둑보급상 최종 후보자 발표


국제바둑학회(ISGS)가 개최한 제1회 ISGS 바둑보급상의 최종 후보자를 발표한다. 바둑보급상은 바둑 애호가, 교육가, 연구자 및 학생들의 관심을 끌어내며 세계 각지로부터 11점의 포스터 응모를 받았다. 이 다양한 응모 작품은 바둑 교육방법, 교육 자료, 미디어, 보급 프로젝트, 그리고 바둑 연구 보고서 등 여러 주제를 다루며 바둑커뮤니티의 세계적인 매력을 보여주었다. 총 21명의 저자들은 전 세계 바둑커뮤니티의 협력적인 특성을 강조하며 혁신적인 아이디어를 선보였다.


이 포스터들은 2023년 8월 31일 명지대학교에서 열리는 국제바둑학술대회에 전시될 예정이다. 참가자들은 포스터를 감상하며 일부 포스터 저자들과 즐거운 토론에 참여할 수 있을 것이다.


제1회 ISGS 바둑보급상 시상식에서는 "바둑보급 우수상", "바둑교육 우수상" 그리고 "라이징 바둑 교육상" 이렇게 총 3가지 부문에서 상이 수여된다.


"제1회 ISGS 바둑보급상에 제출된 작품들의 질과 다양성에 대해 매우 기쁘게 생각합니다" 라고 교육위원회 위원장인 다니엘라 트링스 교수는 말한다. "포스터들은 바둑교육과 보급의 큰 잠재력을 보여주는 소중한 통찰력과 혁신을 담고 있다. 수상자들을 격려하는 시상식이 될 것을 기대한다."


국제바둑학회는 모든 바둑애호가, 연구자 및 지도자들을 국제학술대회에 초대한다. 국제학술대회에서는 앞으로의 바둑 프로젝트에 영감을 주는 매력적인 포스터도 만나볼 수 있다.
